Managing your inventory for dropshipped orders can be streamlined with Ordoro’s feature that automatically assigns orders to a specific warehouse when they are dropshipped to a supplier. This feature ensures that your Available on Hand (AOH) inventory is accurately deducted from the mapped warehouse when orders are dropshipped. It works for manual, process, and automatic dropshipping scenarios.

How to Map a Supplier to a Warehouse

1. Click on your Company Name -> Account Settings.

2. Navigate to the Suppliers Settings on the left side of the page.

3. Find the supplier you want to map to a warehouse and click Edit.

4. Under Linked Warehouse, select the warehouse you want to map to the supplier. Then, click Save.

Once this setup is complete, the warehouse will automatically be assigned to dropship orders sent to that supplier.

For example, if Supplier A is mapped to Warehouse A, any dropship order to Supplier A will automatically reduce the AOH inventory in Warehouse A.

Note: This mapping is not retroactive and will not affect previously dropshipped orders.

Benefits of Using a Dummy Warehouse

Sometimes, you may prefer not to reduce your AOH inventory when updating inventory back to your sales channels. A dummy warehouse can help with this scenario:

  1. Set up a dummy or fake warehouse in Ordoro. Learn how to create a warehouse in Ordoro.
  2. Configure the dummy warehouse to prevent inventory updates in your sales channel settings. See more details on setting inventory writeback.
  3. Link your dummy warehouse to a supplier (or multiple suppliers) in the supplier settings.
  4. Ensure that dropshipped orders are assigned to the supplier mapped to the dummy warehouse.

This setup allows you to manage dropship orders without affecting the AOH inventory displayed to your customers.
