Why is Ordoro introducing this convenience fee?

The cost to process credit card payments has increased due to rising interchange fees and other associated charges. Recent changes at the USPS have further challenged Ordoro’s capacity to shoulder these costs.

How much is the credit card convenience fee?

The convenience fee is 3.00%.

When will the convenience fee rollout begin?

The effective date is December 1, 2023.

How will this fee be applied?

The convenience fee will be charged based on the amount of postage purchased.

Example:

  • $500 in postage is purchased.
  • 3.00% of $500 is $15 so the total charge will be $515.
  • The convenience fees do not count towards your daily purchase limit.

How this will appear in Ordoro:

How does the fee appear in my transaction report?

When you export your USPS transaction report, it will contain notes specifying the convenience fee for each row. Refer to the screenshot below; click on the image to enlarge it.

Notes:

  • The Transaction Amount represents the postage value only and excludes any convenience fees.
  • In the screenshot above, while the Transaction Amount displayed is $10, the total charge, including fees, amounts to $10.30.

Can I avoid the convenience fee?

Absolutely! We’ve teamed up with Pitney Bowes to provide an ACH electronic funds transfer (EFT) option with no added fees. See how to set it up here.

Does the ACH ensure immediate access to my funds?
