Shipping orders with multiple boxes can take time, especially if every item ships in its own package. Instead of manually entering the weight and dimensions for each box, Ordoro can automatically build your multi-package shipment using your product information.

With Split Items in the Multi-Box label modal, Ordoro can create one package per item on the order and automatically fill in the package weight and dimensions from your product details. This can save time, reduce manual entry, and help you get labels out the door faster.

When to use Split Items

Split Items works best when:

  • Each item ships in its own box.
  • You already store product weights and dimensions in Ordoro.
  • You regularly ship orders with multiple units or products.

For example, if customers order multiple oversized items that each need their own shipping label, Split Items can save you from creating each package manually.

How Split Items works

When you click Split Items in the Multi-Box modal, Ordoro:

  • Creates one package for each unit on the order.
  • Copies the product’s weight and dimensions into each package.
  • Saves you from manually entering package details for every box.

If an order contains multiple quantities, Ordoro creates a package for each item.

For example:

  • Order contents
    • Standing Desk Chair × 1
    • Floor Lamp × 2
  • Result after clicking Split Items
    • Package 1 → Standing Desk Chair
    • Package 2 → Floor Lamp
    • Package 3 → Floor Lamp

Each package is automatically filled in using the product dimensions and weight already stored in Ordoro.

Before you start

For the best experience, make sure your products have:

  • Weight
  • Dimensions (Length, Width, Height)

If product dimensions or weight are missing, Ordoro can still create the package rows, but you may need to fill in any missing information before purchasing the label.
