When creating a shipping label, FedEx requires a phone number for the Ship To address. If your customer didn’t include a phone number during checkout, it won’t appear in Ordoro, and FedEx won’t let you create the label without one.


Why does FedEx require a phone number?

FedEx needs a phone number for the person receiving the package to help ensure it gets delivered without problems. If something goes wrong (like the address is missing details or there’s a delivery issue) FedEx uses the phone number to contact someone and fix it. You cannot create the label without a valid number, and the shipment could be delayed.


How to Add a Phone Number in Ordoro

If your customer didn’t provide a phone number, check out this support article for how to add theirs. We’ve also included quick steps below.

  1. Navigate to the Orders tab in Ordoro.​
  2. Select the order lacking a phone number.​
  3. Click on the Ship To address in the Shipping Label panel to edit.​
  4. Enter your warehouse or business phone number in the Phone Number field.​
  5. Click Save to update the address.​

By providing your contact number, you ensure that FedEx has a point of contact, reducing the risk of delivery issues.​
